On the way to her high school, one student near the back of the bus smelled smoke and notified the driver. The driver was able to safely get all 15 students evacuated as thick, black smoke came from the back of the bus. After everyone was safely off the bus, the flames could be seen erupting out the rear-engine compartment of the bus.
